Julaan's Poem
For three days
And three nights
The full moon rose
The full moon set
And the sunlight intensified
And for three days
He listened…And knew
His time had come
How to take a final look -
He couldn’t tell
Except he knew he wanted the full moon
And the warm sun
And the green grass
And the gentle breeze
All these things he wanted to take with him
And so the angels came
With the Harvest Moon
To carry him with all his favorite things
The memories of peaceful and happy days with his three
mates:
Arami, Cayeanne, and Keto
They didn’t notice at first –thought he was napping in
the sun
And he intended to nap when he was called
It’s time. Time to gather in your last breath
And then let go…Let us take you…And
Let Keto be the messenger, since his girl will know how
to comfort
Julaan’s girl and Marjory too…And so it was
It was if he was dreaming of flying in the wind – His
Mane in the winds of heaven, his tail in a swirl
A lasting image of the Arab Angel flying into the
eternal
Land of full moons, warm sunshine, green grass, and
gentle breezes and good friends
And eternal peace
